We’ve been noticing some hot new trends on Instagram lately. Simply posting selfies, flatlays, boomerangs or even carousels just aren’t cutting it anymore. If you’re an active Instagrammer and want to stay in the know check out these 3 trends we’ve identified so far. We have also included how-to guides for each so be sure to give one or all a try!
- Matte is out, Grain photo finish is in! It seems that everything old is new again. Never has that been more apparent than photo finishes on Instagram. Matte photo finish used to be all the rage and now ‘Grammers are taking it one step further for a more vintage film look using grain photo finish.

This is the easiest trend to try. You can use almost any photo editing tool including Instagram’s to achieve this classic photography look.

2. Boomerang is out, Cinemagraph is in! What’s cooler than Boomerang’s looping short videos? Cinemagraph’s looping short videos mixed with still photography. Mind blown.
Creating a Cinemagraph is not quite as easy as editing for Grain finish. However, it is still very achievable for most amateur photographers using animations in photoshop.

3. Trick photography is out, Double exposure is in! Sure it used to be cool to edit photos to create attention grabbing images. Want to know what’s even cooler? Combining 2 photos, usually a human or animal, with a landscape that transitions into each other via Double Exposure.
Some cool examples: @janellesyrese, @life.by.linus, @bagus711
Double exposure is definitely the hardest of the three trends and pretty tough to get right. Start by purchasing a template from Creative Market and prepare for lots of layering in photoshop.

Finding influencers is hard. No matter how big or small the campaign, which category you’re focused on, or what part of the world you’re trying to reach out to; brands and agencies alike agree finding the perfect influencers is an incredibly time-consuming process.
At influence.co, our goal has always been to build products that make the process of building, managing and executing influencer campaigns as painless as possible. So today, we are proud to announce our next innovation aimed at simplifying influencer marketing. Influencer ENGAGE by influence.co is a Chrome extension that lets you identify, analyze and save influencers you find while surfing the web.
By installing the free Chrome extension, every time you’re looking at a webpage with one or more Instagram or Twitter user mentions, we’ll let you know when we have additional information on them. Information can include full social media reach breakdowns, locations, and engagement scores. You’ll quickly be able to determine just how influential the people you’re reading about are.
Furthermore, if you see an influencer you might want to work with you can Favorite that account and come back later to connect with them. Influencer ENGAGE works with users who both have an influence.co profile as well as over 50M Instagram and Twitter accounts who might not have one yet.
Let’s face it, spending time finding influencers sucks. Our goal was to make it suck less. We think we did a pretty good job with this one. Check it out, and install for free here.
As the sun rose so did the influencers and people of Los Angeles. Some from their beds with nothing but a single sock left on, others from the shadows of street lights as the moon disappeared and the LA fog made the realization of staying up all night all too real.
Normally dizzy vision, fuzzy memory and a thumping headache would be something to convince yourself you were never going to drink again. However, for this particular day, it was encouraged, for this means you accepted the challenge to take your heftiest hangover to the Influence house for the ultimate recovery experience.
Upon arrival the choice was seemed clear- retox or detox? For some the decision was instant. Detox with a catered brunch and unlimited Resqwater, followed by a massage from Soothe and an IV drip by The Cure LA, then finished by the pool on an Azza daybed, enjoying the view of the city from the top of Mt. Olympus. Others chose a direct route to retox with champagne, a bloody marry bar, and libations from Fliquor Bean, Voco, Perfectomundo, and in some cases all of the above.
Regardless of which road Influencers chose to take, the bonds formed were apparent for everyone . Brands and influencers became associated, social campaigns were formulated, and a total media reach of over 7million was aggregated. If you were there spot and share your photos below. If you weren’t, bask in envy and relive the event vicariously. Click on each photo to check out more.
